What DPI actually changes
DPI is a label that tells printers and some form checkers how large the image is physically. A 600 × 600 px photo is 2 × 2 inches at 300 DPI, or about 8.3 × 8.3 inches at 72 DPI — the pixels are identical. If you need a specific physical size, use Resize in cm instead, which sets both pixels and DPI.
Frequently asked questions
Does changing DPI reduce quality?
No. Only the stored DPI value changes; the image data is untouched.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is resized inside your browser and never leaves your device — important for ID photos and signatures.
